- Mar 19, 2009
Bad weather overshadowed the 2nd Annual Turkey Night Classic at the Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Missouri. Saturday’s race was rescheduled for Sunday afternoon. It was the second time the race was postponed this season because of weather.

“It was frustrating for the teams, but especially for the large crowd that was there,” said K&N sponsored racer Brian Brown. “It was not a steady rain by any means, just a constant drizzle that would not go away.”

On Sunday, the Brian Brown Racing SuperClean No. 21 made it to victory lane, making Brown 1 for 1 in the 2009 season. On race day, the Grain Valley, Missouri driver lined up beside Sean McClelland in row one for the 25-lap main event.
“Sean and I started in the front row side-by-side and we raced each other for several laps,” said Brown. “I was able to get into the lead when we had a caution about lap five. After a few more yellows, things moved faster. We ran the last nine laps non-stop.”
Brown’s Maxim chassis is powered by fresh Ostrich power. “The motor was definitely sound,” he said. “With my K&N air and oil filters, dirt stays out of the engine. I get additional power with K&N. I’ve used K&N for eight years and it’s the best product on the market. This is a great way to start the season.”
Brown’s next race will be at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas for the Lucas Oil ASCS Series opener. It will be televised on Versus on May 2nd and May 9th.
