ASCS Arizona Midget Racer with Back-to-Back Wins at Manzanita Speedway
- Oct 10, 2007
For the second week in a row, Chad Boat was the fastest in the ASCS Arizona
Midget field at Manzanita Speedway. Starting from the fifth position, Boat faced
a tough field but outpaced R.J. Johnson and three time main event winner Chris
Rahe for the win. In the heat, Boat started from the pole and won. In the
process he broke the eight-lap track record.
In the main Boat drove through the field with USAC regulars Johnson and Rahe until he took the lead on lap 12. Boat stretched his lead to more than 3 seconds before a yellow flag shut things down with two laps to go. On the restart he pulled away to take the victory.
“We had a great run in the midget,” said Boat. “The car is running great and I feel like I can drive it anywhere on the track. We use K&N Engineering oil and air filters all the time. The products help our performance and help with our wins.”
Boat’s next race will be the 360 Western World Race at Manzanita.
