Jeep's popular Liberty model received an aggressive makeover for 2008. Bold lines, modern round-headlights, and that unmistakable vertical-slat grill compliment the very capable Liberty package. Seeing the potential for improvement K&N Engineering seized the opportunity to build one of their Performance Air Intake Systems (57-1559 and 57-1559) for the 2008 and 2009 Jeep Liberty with the 3.7L V6 engine.

With the addition of K&N Engineering's Performance Air Intake Systems (57-1559 and 57-1559), Liberty owners can realize a gain of more than 11 horsepower. K&N's Research and Development Department tested a 2008 Jeep Liberty 3.7L V6 on our in-house dynamometer. Results showed an impressive 11.25 horsepower gain @ 4800 RPM.
K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction as they smooth and straighten airflow. This allows your engine to pull in air with ease compared to the OEM air filter assembly. More air means more power and torque when you need it. With a K&N Performance Air Intake System, consumers can count on extra horsepower whether driving around town, towing, or hauling five passengers plus gear on a camping trip.
These air intake systems use a conical shaped chrome top high-flow air filter (RF-1048) and powder coated aluminum heat shield in place of the vehicle's stock air box. The result is an air filter that captures harmful particles, provides more surface area, flows more air, and has a long service life. This K&N air filter performs for up to 100,000 miles before service is required depending on driving conditions. Improving the air path between the filter and the motor is the rotationally-molded high-density polyethylene tube. It offers the most flexibility in design and outstanding horsepower numbers.
