Civil War Series for 360 Sprint Cars Season Opener in Placerville, California
- Mar 18, 2009
Round One of the California Civil War Series for 360 Sprint Cars takes place in Placerville, California. The A&A Motorsports Team will race on the El Dorado County Fairgrounds with K&N sponsored sprint car driver Andy Forsberg behind the wheel.
The Civil War Series allows competitors to compete for a regional style championship and at the same time allows them to compete at their home tracks for weekly titles. The Civil War Series also pays out nearly $20,000 for single event winnings.
Forsberg started out the sprint car season strong and competed in the 2009 Mini Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California.
Forsberg finished 4th in his heat race but started 16th in the A Main event. Unfortunately, Forsberg tangled with Lucas Wolf and Danny Lasoski on the racy ¼ mile track. He turned his car upside down and ended the night.
The team made repairs to its 360 Sprint car and gave it another run during the second night of the Mini Gold Cup. Forsberg finished 8th in the B-main.
Forsberg is ready for the California Civil War Series. The campaign consists of 14 overall events that take place at six different racing facilities from March through October.“I use K&N products at all of my races,” said Forsberg. “K&N makes great products and would not use anything else on my sprint cars.”
