Engine Troubles Ruin Knoxville Nationals for Sprint Car Racer

The famed 46th Annual Super Clean Knoxville National’s were tough for Jeremy
Campbell Motorsports. Mechanical problems during qualifying meant a tough three
days at the biggest sprint car race of the year.
Campbell was able to win his qualifying heat Wednesday night but the mechanical problems that plagued the team continued and he finished 18th in the main heat. “We had engine problems and we’re still trying to figure out what is going on,” said Campbell. “Our K&N Engineering Filter worked great, our engine stayed clean. If our engine worked as well as our K&N Filter things would be great.”
On Saturday Campbell struggled again with the same mechanical problems and was only able to make it to 16th in the “C” Feature.
“It was definitely a disappointing Knoxville for us,” Campbell said. “You just can’t make mistakes here and we were battling problems with the car all week. Hopefully we have them figured out as we had back into points racing and we can redeem ourselves a little.”

Campbell races Thursday night in Rapid City, South Dakota. “We get one run
to work out the bugs, hopefully everything will be working,” said Campbell.
“There have been a lot of ups and downs but it’s been a great season so far.”
Jeremy Campbell Motorsports changed the outside look of its sprint car. “We wanted something different, something that stands out,” said Campbell. “We’ll probably keep the new look for the rest of the year.”
