To get a performance increase K&N replaced the Wrangler's original intake assembly, including the air box, air filter and intake tube with an all new air intake design. The new system draws air through K&N a High-Flow Lifetime Replacement Air Filter (RU-4730) which increases airflow and filtering capacity.

A powder coated steel heat shield replaces the stock airbox and protects the K&N Air Filter by isolating it from engine heat. As air passes through the filter, it travels though a longer intake tube which uses a silicone hose that is mounted to the throttle body.

The heat shield bolts into the factory airbox location. The tube is supported by a bracket which is mounted onto the engine. Remove the factory air temperature sensor from the stock intake track then install it into the new K&N Air intake kit.

The 77-1553KP can easily be installed in 90 minutes or less and are backed by the K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.
