K&N 57 Series FIPK® Intakes Add up to 15 More HP To The Supercharged Ford Lightning and H-D F-150s
- Sep 23, 2004
RIVERSIDE, CA - The Ford SVT F-150 Lightning was recently certified "The World's Fastest Production Pickup Truck" by Guinness World Records™ as the result of a 147-mph run at Ford's test track. K&N Engineering makes this truck and its F-150 Harley-Davidson™ SuperCrew sibling even faster and more powerful with two new Fuel Injection Performance Kit (FIPK®) applications. Kit No. 57-2549 for 2001-2004 trucks increased rear-wheel horsepower on K&N's Dynojet 248 dynamometer 15.6 HP to a peak of 372.1; system 57-2548 raised 1999-2000 Lightning rear-wheel output 14.8 HP to 345.5.
By replacing the poor flowing stock airbox and intact tract K&N Intake Kits feed the 5.4L supercharged engine significantly more air. Each Kit includes a genuine washable and reusable K&N High-Flow Air Filter, which is shielded from underhood heat with a black-powdercoated steel heat shield. K&N is so confident in its engineering that the company offers guaranteed horsepower with this kit.
Because K&N High-Flow Air Filters can be repeatedly cleaned and re-oiled with a K&N recharger kit (available separately), the FIPK® is an exceptional long-term value, considering both improved horsepower and protection from harmful dirt and debris
The average do-it-yourselfer can complete installation in approximately 90 minutes. The job is purely bolt-on, using existing holes and mounting locations. Overall, this FIPK® upgrade involves removing the stock airbox, intake tract and mass-air sensor; replacing these parts with corresponding FIPK® components; and re-attaching/re-installing the factory sensors and vent lines. K&N® supplies all necessary mounting hardware.
Most K&N FIPK® Kits are 50-state legal, won't void the factory warranty and are compatible with OE computer and emissions controls. Also, the system's High-Flow Air Filter is backed by the famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty®.
