K&N Air Filter Released for Hybrid Toyota Prius with 1.5 Liter Engine
- Nov 14, 2006
Fuel economy and environmental impact make the Toyota Prius one of the
best-selling gas-electric hybrids in the United States. In 2004 Toyota
redesigned the Prius, turning it into a midsize car and re-engineering its
electrical and mechanical systems. By 2006 the Prius had redesigned taillights
and headlights and new advanced airbags.
K&N Engineering has designed a Lifetime Replacement Air Filter (33-2329) for the 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 Toyota Prius 1.5L.
Lift the hood of the Prius and the K&N Air Filter is custom designed to fit in the factory air box. The drop-in design means adding performance is simple, just remove the disposable air filter in the Prius and remove the adhesive backing from the gasket. Install the gasket around the smaller orifice on the air box. Install K&N's Air Filter (33-2329) in the air box.
"The air comes in through the back side of the filter and goes through the passage back down to the engine," said K&N Air Filter Project Manager Joost Adriaans. "We created a window of sorts in order to get a seal. This means there is no outside interference from unfiltered air."
The washable, reusable, high flow flat panel filter is designed to increase horsepower and acceleration while providing excellent filtration. K&N's 33-2329 is 0.875 inches in height (22mm) with an outside length of 11.563 inches (294mm) and an outside width of 7.688 inches (195mm).
Unlike disposable filters, K&N Air Filters use a unique pleated design comprised of an oiled cotton fabric sandwiched between two layers of epoxy-coated aluminum screen. K&N Air Filters capture airborne dirt particles while allowing high volume air flow. These particles then cling to the outside of the filter and become part of the filtering media. K&N's Filter's are environmentally friendly and reduce the volume of disposable air filters that end up in landfills.
K&N Air Filters for street vehicles are covered by our famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty and will be the last air filter your vehicle will ever need.
