RIVERSIDE, CA - K&N Engineering's 69-Series Typhoon Intake Kit boasts the ultimate in performance filtration technology. The Typhoon Short Ram-style intake for the 2002, 2003 and 2004 Volkswagen Golf and the 2004 Volkswagen Golf R32 comes complete with a heat shield, mandrel-bent 6061 aluminum intake tubing, multi-ply Du-Pont Nomex -reinforced silicone hoses and stainless-steel barrel clamps. Clean air is provided by K&N's High-Flow Air Filter element topped with carbon fiber aesthetics.
Not only does the Typhoon strut great looks for the VW Golf R32, it gives awesome performance as well. On K&N's in-house Dynojet dynamometer, the Typhoon (Part Number 69-9502, with Blue and Polished Aluminum tubes) produced estimated gains of 17.6 horsepower at 5684 rpm over the stock intake system at the drive wheels. The Short Ram configuration makes this kit the perfect easy-install for a weekend garage warrior looking for great power gains without complicated modifications.
As with all K&N High-Flow Air Filters, the element included with the Typhoon Intake Kit for the Golf R32 is washable and re-usable. K&N recommends cleaning the filter every 100,000 miles (depending on driving conditions) and the process is a breeze with K&N's Recharger® Kit (PN 99-5000).
