The 2006 Hoosier Tire West Championship Belongs to Jason Patison
- Dec 1, 2006
Jason Patison clinched the ASA Hoosier Tire West Modified Series Championship at
the Havasu 95 Speedway on November 27, 2006. The points leader was sitting on
top of the standings as he entered the last race of the year. Patison had a 10
point lead and needed to finish 5th or better to wrap up the championship.
After winning the trophy dash at Havasu, Patison raced against 23 other cars for the 50-lap main event. The first 5 laps of the low-banked 3/8 mile oval track were a side-by-side run for the lead between Patison and Dean Kuhn. Patison eventually completed a pass around the outside and never let go of the lead.
The Jason Patison #80 Modified Team uses K&N Engineering Products. “I’ve been using K&N Oil Filters for about 4 years,” said Patison. “K&N works great and helped us bring home the points this season.”
Patison drives a modified open wheel which is 2500 lbs and 550 hp. “The horsepower to weight ratio is powerful,” he said. “It was really great to win this championship.”
This special modified racing series is comprised of six events hosted by the Lucas Oil I 10 Speedway in Blythe, CA, the Orange Show Speedway in San Bernardino, CA and the Havasu 95 Speedway in Lake Havasu.
