The 1955 Ford Thunderbird celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2005 and Ford
marked that date with the 2005 Thunderbird. Reborn in 2002, it's Ford's answer
to the nostalgia business.
Air Intake Kit for 2003, 2004 and 2005 Ford Thunderbird
K&N Engineering can make the T-Bird add horsepower with a new 57-Series
Generation II Fuel Injection Performance Kit (57-2562).
The FIPK is for the 2003, 2004 and 2005 Ford Thunderbird 3.9 L V8. K&N's Dyno
tests show a 15.69 horsepower gain at 6000 RPM.
The 57-Series (57-2562)
features three main aerodynamically engineered components: a famous K&N
High-Flow Replacement Air Filter (RC-4630),
a metal heat shield and a polyethylene intake tube that has been routed for
optimal performance.
The K&N High-Flow Replacement Air Filter can be repeatedly washed and re-oiled
with a K&N cleaning kit. Service intervals can be up to 100,000 miles
depending on driving conditions.
The K&N FIPK air intake also includes illustrated instructions along with all the mounting
hardware. The average Thunderbird owner can bolt on the 57-Series FIPK in less
than 90 minutes with simple hand tools. It also comes with the famous K&N
Million Mile Limited Warranty.
K&N Engineering’s web site, KNFilters.com received the National Catalog Managers
Association (NCMA) Award for Web Catalog Excellence at the 33rd Annual Knowledge
Exchange Conference in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The award recognizes automotive aftermarket companies for excellence in
electronic cataloging. Over 200 vendors and members attended the event.
“Our judging committee was very impressed with the K&N Catalog,” said Tim
Hardin, one of the NCMA judges. “The process for picking a winner is complex.
For more than a week judges look at all the different items in a catalog. We
consider page layout, use of color, size and type of fonts, also the simplicity
of going from one page to the next. K&N stood out.”
“My department maintains the application information,” said K&N Engineering
Product Configuration and Data Control Manager Kerrie Helseth. “K&N’s data is inclusive
and accurate and this makes a difference to our vendors. We are very proud to be
recognized within the industry.”
“It is a really important award,” said K&N Vice-President of Communications Tim
Martin. “We have spent a lot of time designing and improving the KNFilters.com website to meet the needs of consumers and dealers. “We placed a lot of effort in coordinating and improving electronic data and we have implemented the latest complex electronic data standards.”
The IT Team at K&N made it possible to provide visibility to a deeper level of
information for consumers interested in aftermarket products. The first thing
many consumers buy for a car is a K&N Filter, and now it’s easy to find out what
is available for that car. KNFilters.com provides product searches with a lot of
flexibility. “If you want a K&N Universal Filter you can search by virtually any
attribute of the filter,” said Martin. “It does not have to be in any particular
order.”
“The biggest benefit to this work is the real-time catalog visibility. We make direct changes to product and vehicle application data on our website. The level of integration and real-time update of our catalog data is not typical in the aftermarket automotive industry. Many of our dealers use our website to find products rather than traditional paper catalogs. We also get the same benefits in the way we provide dealer referrals,” said
Martin. “We make tens of thousands of referrals every month. We used to maintain a K&N dealer list that only changed once a month or so. Now we update the data directly and new dealers are listed on our website within a short period of time.”
I’m really proud of the K&N team and all the hard work involved, said Martin.
The 2004 Ford Focus SVT is a performance vehicle that enthusiasts like to play
with. Performance drivers also can opt for 2 or 5 door versions.
Air Intake Kit for 2002, 2003 and 2004 Ford Focus SVT
For the 2002, 2003, 2004 Ford Focus SVT 2.0L L4, K&N Engineering has designed a
Generation II 57-Series Fuel Injection Performance Kit (57-2547)
that will add 5.48 horsepower at 6500 RPM.
By replacing your factory air intake assembly with K&N's 57-Series FIPK, your
engine will get more air with less restriction. More air means more usable power
and acceleration throughout the engines RPM range.
"We were able to get power from the intake tube radius adaptor," said Bert Heck,
K&N Performance Kit Manager. "The FIPK uses K&N's high-flow, washable and
reusable air filter (RP-5101)
which also provides more power." This filter can be cleaned and re-oiled with a
K&N cleaning kit for years of use. K&N caps the filter with a carbon-fiber top.
The FIPK (57-2547)
can be installed in 90 minutes or less with simple hand tools and lasts up to
100,000 miles before service is required (depending on driving conditions.) It
also comes with K&N's famous Million Mile Limited Warranty.
For car enthusiasts, the national Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour is the real deal.
The participants range from having one car or a fleet of cars. Jay Leno provided
his 1932 Deuce Convertible and guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepard drove his modified
1969 Dodge Charger.
This year’s seven city tour started in Kissimmee, Florida and ended in
Englishtown, New Jersey with stops in Gainesville, Florida, Perry, Georgia,
Columbia, South Carolina, Salem, Virginia and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
K&N's 60-0410 Custom Air Cleaner Assembly
Patrick Thiele joined the southern leg of the 12th annual tour with his
1968 GMC Pick-up at Columbia, South Carolina. Thiele met the representatives
from K&N Engineering’s Truck and Trailer program, part of the 1500 or so
long-haulers that went to every stop on the tour.
“I use K&N Air Filters on all my cars and motorcycles,” said Thiele. “This was
my 68’s maiden voyage and I couldn’t have a better air filter on it. After
market parts are hard to find, but if I paid a million dollars for a filter, I
don’t think I could have found anything better than K&N’s 60-0410,
a custom air cleaner assembly designed for use on nostalgia engines.” K&N’
Engineering’s 60-0410
incorporates a K&N Air Filter and combines high air flow with great looks.
Mike White from Montgomery, Illinois did the restoration on my Tara- Blue GMC
Pick-up, said Thiele. “We polished the aluminum on the K&N assembly to match the
fins that are on my valve cover,” said Thiele. “I’ve always used K&N products;
you can’t beat the performance, the cost and the warranty.”
Participants spend a lot of time admiring cars, discussing cars and whenever
someone has a problem, working on cars. “There is not a lot of pressure on the
Hot Rod Power Tour,” said Thiele. “This is not your typical auto show because
cars are not in a glass bubble. We touch cars, help each other and even go
through puddles with our prized possessions.”

K&N Engineering’s Marketing and Sales Program Manager Brett Kinsfather was
on every leg of the 1300 plus mile tour in the K&N Truck and Trailer. “It’s
really good to know your customers,” said Kinsfather. “I was able to really get
to know the people who drive their classic or modified cars and who love their
cars and our K&N products. There is a lot of camaraderie.”
K&N Engineering has released a new Lifetime Replacement Air Filter (33-2910)
for the 2002 to 2007 Maruti Suzuki Swift 1.3L L4. The Swift takes its place between the mid-sized and compact
car segments.
Replacement Air Filter for the Maruti Suzuki Swift
Lift the hood of the Suzuki and the K&N Air Filter is custom designed to fit in
the factory air box. The drop-in design means adding performance is simple, just
remove the disposable air filter in the Maruti Suzuki Swift and replace it with
K&N's Air Filter (33-2910).
The washable, reusable, high flow flat panel filter is designed to increase
horsepower and acceleration while providing excellent filtration. The (33-2910)
is 1.75 inches in height (44mm) with an outside length of 13.5 inches (343 Mm)
and an outside width of 7.75 inches (197mm).
Harish Sosa is from the city of Mumbai, India. Sosa e-mailed K&N and wrote,
"There are thousands of vehicles here which suffer from lack of power and
mileage, due to inefficient filters. I installed K&N's Replacement Air Filter
and noticed and improvement in pick-up and torque. I am very happy with the
performance of this wonderful K&N Filter. Now it's fun to drive my car in heavy
traffic. I notice a difference when I shift and my acceleration has greatly
improved." Sosa also requested that we manufacture more filters for cars in India. This release will
help with his request and more are on the way.
Unlike disposable filters, K&N Air Filters use a unique pleated design comprised
of an oiled cotton fabric sandwiched between two layers of epoxy-coated aluminum
screen. The filters capture airborne dirt particles while allowing high volume
air flow. These particles than cling to the outside of the filter and become
part of the filtering media.
The pleating on K&N Filters for street vehicles are covered by our famous K&N
Million Mile Limited Warranty and will be the last air filter your vehicle will
ever need.
The 33-2910, replacement air filter, fits the following vehicles:
