K&N's New 57S Performance Airbox Adds Power to Several Volkswagen, Seat, Audi and Skoda Models

K&N has developed a performance airbox system for a wide range of 2003 to 2013 Volkswagen, Seat, Audi and Skoda models found in Europe and around the globe.  See the complete list of vehicles below.  The 57S-9500 is fully compliant with the latest TUV emissions and sound regulations.  It was submitted for testing and certified before it was released by K&N.

The 57S-9500 increases horsepower and acceleration by reducing air flow restriction caused by the original factory design. Typical gains on a 4 cylinder vehicle range between 4 and 7 horsepower.  Simply replace the factory air filter housing with K&N's fully enclosed airbox.  It is injection molded for extra strength, consistency and durability.

The airbox assembly has a removable lid for easy access to a round tapered washable and reusable K&N air filter (RU-5061).  The design includes a custom engineered velocity stack (Velum) for smooth air flow.

A typical installation can be done with a screwdriver, pliers and a ratchet set.  57S performance air boxes use factory holes as mounting points.  The 57S-9500 is pre assembled and custom designed to fit right into the engine compartment. The air box assembly is connected to the engine with adapters made from high strength materials. Put this all together and you’ll have a power adding TUV compliant high-flow intake system that will last for the life of your vehicle.

Instructions are included with each kit in several different languages. K&N air intake kits are easy to assemble, usually in 90 minutes or less and come with the famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.

K&N Universal air filter RC-4381 with chrome top
K&N has released a new chrome top round tapered universal air filter (RC-4381) which offers a high end look. The RC-4381 is a large air filter which results in more potential air flow and longer periods between cleaning.

The RC-4381 has a base outside diameter of 7.5 inches (191mm), top outside diameter of 5 inches (127mm) and a flange with an inside diameter of 6 inches (152mm) that can be stretched up to 1/16 (1.5mm) to fit any in-between sizes.

K&N’s air filters are designed to allow high air flow while providing excellent filtration. Like other K&N air filters, the RC-4381 is washable and reusable. This cone shaped universal air filter might make the perfect filter for an off-road or racing vehicle or other applications needing a 6 inch flange.  There are hundreds of K&N universal air filter shapes and sizes available for just about any need.

Find K&N Universal Air Filters by using the Universal Air Filter Search by Dimension on KNFilters.com. Use the K&N application search to find all K&N products for your vehicle then use the K&N dealer search to find a K&N dealer near you.

McGrady qualified at 29 in a 32 car field and raced up to 15th place in his first 50 lap Late Model feature. The average speed over the weekend was around 93 mph. “But, they go faster,” said Kyle’s mother, Doreen McGrady. “The racing scares me to death. I never worry about Kyle, but I worry about the other guys on the track. We were hoping to make the race and bring the car home in one piece. Kyle got out there and impressed us his first time out in this series. Some people just have it and everyone says Kyle can race.”

The Hesperia, California resident is part of a very small group of young teenagers who can race mid to upper horsepower cars. He is also talented enough to win races on dirt and asphalt tracks. “We use K&N products, such as the air filters, in our race cars, tow vehicles and passenger cars,” said McGrady. “We are a big believer in K&N. K&N protects our engines and gives us extra horsepower and acceleration on and off the track. We are very proud to be associated with K&N.”

McGrady started racing at 8-years-old racing Jr. Speedway Sprints on dirt. At 10, he moved up to Mini-Stock cars and at 13 he started driving in the very competitive PRO-4 Division. “Kyle won Rookie-of-the-Year in 2006 in the Pro-4 Division,” said Doreen McGrady, Kyle’s mother. “He also finished 6th overall in points standings.”

This year McGrady will also compete at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale in the NASCAR Auto Club Series Rookie of the Year honors. His long term plans are to move up to the NASCAR Nationwide Series or the Craftsman Truck Series. In the meantime, he knows the importance of being in the National Honor Society and carries an A average in the classroom.

McGrady will race again at Irwindale on April 11.

The Stars of Monster Jam Rocked the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio

The Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio hosted the Monster Jam Tour. The weekend also included several wins by the K&N Ford Powered Black Stallion. The wheelie contest started things off at Wright State University. A bad hit tossed Vaters sideways, but he recovered.

The first round of racing featured a very close race between Iron Warrior and Avenger. The two fought a very close race, and Iron Warrior had the victory in his sight. The Avenger came out of nowhere and flew past the Iron Warrior for the finish. The officials reviewed the replay several times and decided Avenger took the win by inches. The Black Stallion squared off with Bad News and Bad News took the win in the first round.

In the doughnut competition, the concrete floor was a challenge for the drivers. “You would not think that a slippery floor would be a problem when the goal is to slide a 10,000 lb. monster truck around in circles,” said Vaters. “The reality is the trucks slide to one side or the other instead of settling into tight doughnuts.” A few of the drivers made a revolution and then had to stop for safety reasons. No one wanted to go out of bounds or slide into the race lane cars.

During the freestyle portion of the show Michael Vaters and the K&N Ford Powered Black Stallion finished off his run with a high flying leap that landed ten feet away from the center van stack. Vaters was in reverse the entire time. Grave Digger took the Freestyle win by one point over Black Stallion.

During the last show of the weekend, Vaters stood the K&N Ford Powered Black Stallion Straight up and down on the track. The fans in Dayton were not disappointed.

Matt Kenseth followed his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Daytona 500 victory with a win at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Auto Club 500 in Fontana, California. His 2 for 2 wins marked the first time a driver has won the first two Cup races of the season since 1997.

In the Auto Club 500, Kenseth beat runner-up Jeff Gordon by 1½ seconds. By the way, Gordon was the driver who won the first two Cup Races of the season in 1997. In Fontana, Kenseth led 84 of 250 laps. He passed Gordon at lap 212 and stayed in first place until the end. Gordon tried to pass, but could not. Kyle Busch came in third. Roush Fenway driver Greg Biffle, a four-time winner at Fontana came in fourth-place.

The win was team owner Jack Roush's fifth consecutive victory in this race. "Roush Fenway started off the season with strong wins at Daytona and Fontana," said Charles Meier of K&N Engineering. "K&N filters have been supporting Roush Fenway with our air and oil filters for three seasons. We are very happy to have this relationship because they produce result regularly with their reliable engines and talented drivers. It's a fitting combination with the World's Best Air Filters."

In Daytona, Kenseth took over the lead two laps before NASCAR stopped the season-opening event. Kenseth was recovering from a winless season and initially had bad luck at Daytona International Speedway. In the Daytona 500, he wrecked his primary car and started Sunday's race in last place in a back-up vehicle.

Kenseth managed to turn it up a notch on the track as the rain closed in on the season-opener. He passed Elliot Sadler with 54 laps remaining. Moments later the rain came and a caution came out for an accident. NASCAR stopped the race two laps later and Kenseth was declared the winner.

Two facts remain, it rained in the first two races of the NASCAR Cup Series and Matt Kenseth won both. History will remember who won.
