ORBA Executive Director Fred Wiley uses his Ford F-150 to meet with officials in the off-road industry
“I visit people involved in the off-road industry, from the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) to the U.S Forest Service,” he said. “I even drive my Ford F-150 to Sacramento and park it outside Governor Schwarzenegger’s office. It gets a lot of attention there.”
Wiley and other ORBA team members monitor and participate in Forest Service and BLM planning processes. ORBA also monitors OHV legislation and works with the EPA and California Air Resources Board on emission issues.
Wiley has a K&N air intake system on his Ford F-150. “I save money on gas with K&N,” he said. “I also like the fact that the K&N air filter is washable and reusable and is guaranteed for a million miles.”
ORBA’s executive director travels about 75,000 miles annually. “I go to Washington D.C. and other state capitals to deal with legislative issues,” said Wiley. “Spring is a really busy time for us. That’s when I drive 2,000 to 3,000 miles a week. By the way off-road recreation is not only our business, it is our passion.”
