Mod Class. Stewart also finished third overall in the 65cc Novice Class.

Stewart led flag-to-flag in both races of his first place races at the Lake Elsinore Motocross Park in California. “Marshall finished the last two laps of Moto 2 in the 50cc
Mod Class with a flat rear tire,” said Chris Roberts, Marshall’s father. “He was
ahead of the pack by half-track at the end despite the flat.”

In the 65cc Novice Class Stewart dealt with a full gate of racers and two bad starts. He
pushed through the pack even though he was tired.
“Marshall had two new motors to try out that were tuned and running great,” said Roberts. “He was incredible when he drove. The track at this race was choppy and the dust was horrible. Our K&N air filters protected our two overworked engines and gave Marshall the power he needed
to add three more podium finishes to his championship resume.”
Stewart is only ten-years-old and his parents are his transportation. “We use K&N products exclusively in all of our cars, toys and equipment,” said Roberts. “We even put K&N filters on our trailer generator and the lawn mower Marshall uses to earn his allowance.”
Stewart’s next Moto X race will be at Lake Elsinore Motocross Park in July.
The atmosphere was very different on the track Sunday at the Lucas Oil NHRA SuperNationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey. The loss of Scott Kalitta on Saturday affected nearly every person associated with motorsports including Del Worsham.
CSK Team worked quietly in the pits after Scott Kalitta's tragic accident at the Lucas Oil NHRA SuperNationals in Englishtown, New Jersey
Worsham watched as Kalitta’s car hit the sand trap at a high rate of speed. “That was so hard to
see, and impossible to believe,” he said. “I’m just sick. I’ve known Scott forever, and I know all the people at Kalitta Racing. We knew it wasn’t good as soon as we saw it. We think we’re pretty tough in this sport. It’s going to be a while before we know how to deal with this, before we can move on emotionally. My heart goes out to everyone. Scott Kalitta was a champion.”
Team CSK switched NHRA Funny Car wraps from red to blue at Englishtown
Worsham did not climb into his race car on Sunday with the same tension or the same motivation as any normal NHRA race day. Worsham said he was intent and focused and very much interested in doing well on the track, but the triviality of round wins made
everything somewhat surreal.
Worsham and the Checker, Schuck’s Kragen team approached each lap with a steady demeanor and did their best. In the end, huge wins over Gary Scelzi and Robert Hight propelled the CSK Funny Car with K&N Engineering products into the semi-final, where they took part in a great race between two great teams. Points leader Tim Wilkerson posted a solid 4.93, and that was enough to edge ahead of Worsham’s solid 4.95, which ended the CSK driver’s weekend
“We wanted to win every round, but we got edged out by the guy who is just dominating the class right now and there is no shame in that,” said Worsham. “This was a hard day for everyone and so unlike a normal Sunday at the track.”
Despite the tragedy, it was a big weekend for Worsham and his team. He currently sits at No. 5
in his class. “I just wanted to go home and be with my family,” he said. “The Norwalk, Ohio race is just a few days away, so we’ll hold each other tight and I’ll play with my girls. Then we’ll go racing again. We will also miss Scott forever.”

K&N sponsored teen Jacob Pearlman (JP) moved up from local competition to national competition in the
Ekartingnews.com Winter Rotax North American Driver rankings. The Carlsbad,
California resident only ran a part-time schedule this season but made an
impressive early showing.

“Jacob has a heavy academic schedule,” said Rich Pearlman. “We also had
recurring problems with our 2008 race motor. Our Dave’s Performance Karting (DPK)
teammates along with our K&N Engineering products helped us in the pits on race
days. Jacob and his team continue to rely on K&N for great power and easy
maintenance on the track or at the shop.”
In his first two events running in the ultra-competitive Senior Classes Pearlman
ran against strong fields dominated by older and more experienced national
champions and front-running international competitors. Drivers attended the Las
Vegas, Nevada event from the United States, Canada, along with Central and South
America.
The highlight of the winter karting season for Pearlman was a 9th place finish
in the Gatorz Rotax Challenge of the Americas final event at the famous X-Plex
kart track in Las Vegas. “Jacob set one of the fastest times in morning warm-ups
and carried his speed throughout the day,” said Pearlman. “The national rankings are a new and very
challenge level of racing competition. There is still a great deal for Jacob to learn,
but running with the leaders is affording him the experience he will need to win
at this level.”
JP’s summer kart racing schedule will be limited to select events. “He has to
focus on his sophomore final exams,” said Pearlman. “This fall Jacob will have a
heavy honors course load.”
After his 16th birthday in October, JP will make his sports car racing debut
with the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) at Buttonwillow Raceway in California
